I started to make a handheld arcade first as I found it the most interesting. When I looked back, the results were hedious! But it is because of these monsters I learnt a lot about soldering, voltage, batteries, and circuit boards. Not exactly the raspberry pi or arduino type of circuits but, these were seemingly the more day-to-day types.

The issue with raspberry pi arduino kits were that there were a lot of switches and resistors but they were not exactly the things that regularly power our day to day items. For example, our speakers, lcd screens and power banks. Diving into handheld arcades made me appreciate the circuit boards that were open source and easily available online.

It's almost like learning about API's and working with API's in your code instead of writing everything yourself.

Reading circuits, soldering them and connecting them was much fun, although I thought it was really a steep learning curve , I think I did fairly well. Here's my first GB pi handheld. Enjoy!
